UV Transilluminator (UVT)

This 11cm by 14 cm transilluminator is used for viewing DNA in agarose gels stained with ethidium bromide. Transparent hinged cover is constructed from heavy duty, acrylic based, UV-blocking material to protect the user from exposure to hazardous UV radiation. LonglifeTM filter glass inhibits solarization up to 50 times longer than conventional UV filters. This ultra-slow aging process dramatically extends filter life and provides much greater brightness throughout its longer life span. Unit produces high clarity fluorescent response providing sensitivity down to one or two nanograms. Unsurpassed UV intensity at 312 nm and outstanding irradiance uniformity enable visualization of even trace amounts of DNA. Stainless steel filter frame reduces the chance of gel damage or contamination.
